Washi lamp collection
TAKO / KYO / PAO
These lighting pieces were born from a deep respect for the artisans who meticulously craft handmade washi, using it exactly as it is without cutting or wasting any part of it.
Arita porcelain
HANA series
Rather than creating an entirely new form, Kita reinterpreted a 17th-century Arita plate composed of three floral elements, refining it into a form suited to contemporary living.The series was created with the hope that artisans would take pride in their craft and feel confident in their role as carriers of tradition into the future.
Tanba ware
TANBA series
Tamba-Sasayama, where designer Toshiyuki Kita’s renovated kominka gallery is located, is also home to Tamba-yaki—one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns, with a history that began in the late Heian period (12th century) and has continued for more than 800 years.
